Buildpic: The unit itself is fine, no real flaws [4]. The background, however is a bit odd, mostly because the terrain a bit away is more detailed than the terrain close up, where the plant stands [2]. The merging is a bit odd, since the shading is completely out of hand. The background looks to be a bit cloudy, bright summer day, with exception for the big fat black cloud that hangs over larger parts of the plant. And the cloud also seem to have the very same contures too since nothing of the darkness can be seen on the ground. There is a shadow, but I can\'t help feeling that it is completely wrong placed, however without a clue of how it really should be [1].

Model: This is a brilliant example of exactly how a powerplant in a intergalactic 4000 year long war not should look like. If you are searching for similarities with any OTA unit, you will fail. Furtherly it is beyond my comprehension why the smaller building and the shorter, fatter pipe are hold together by this thin lead. There are many ways to assimilate this unit into the OTA world, but all of them involve some kind of remodelling to make it look more futuristic and augmented than present [1]. The texturing is both variated and with a minor (but not full) CD:3D addition. There is only one logo, but it's big enough and it is seen from any angle in the game [5]. Nice corpse. It's rare for corpses to be this completely and throughout destroyed [1].

BalanceI'm taking the most used energy sources and list how much energy and metal is required for each energy unit to be created. Hey, come back! First out the Core Solar Collector 141M 790E and produces 20 E every second. That means it needs 7M and 40E for every energy unit to be produced. The ratio for the Core Fusion is 5M and 38E for each energy unit. As you can see, the Fusion is slightly more efficient compared to the solar, saving you 2000 metal compared to if you would build solars instead. The problem with the oil plant is that it needs only 5.5M and 39E for every energy unit produced and it is very nasty because you get an energy source both instantly available (since it is a level 1 building) and much efficient (you get half the payment after half the job compared to the Fusion). To be really incorporated with OTA, the costs/output need to be adjusted to take up no less than 6.5 metal for every unit energy it produces or the Fusion will be obsolete.

Balance: 4

My score: I like them actually, but not too much because it is totally and completely unfitting in OTA. The AI seem to love them, however and the whole map is soon crowded with smoking factories. NO respect for the enviroment...

My score: 5

Total score: 5.5
